I’m Phil, aspiring graphic designer and politics guru currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. I am concentrating in two-dimensional and interactive Web design with minors in both photo-illustration and public relations. I’ve held positions as art director for the Tannery Communications, a student-staffed integrated marketing and communications firm, and as graphic designer for the Arras Group, an advertising agency based in Cleveland, Ohio.
My interest in graphic design came at an early age developing and creating websites for my favorite cartoon shows. With limited knowledge, I designed banner heads, edited images, and wrote body copy. 15 years later, I am eager to expand my skills, collaborate with others, and make a name for myself. I am constantly trying to find ways to incorporate my experience with public relations and social media into my graphic design work. I am currently designing an interactive iphone/ipad application to simplify the daunting action of picking a political candidate to vote for while engaging the user in the political process. Creating a world where great design and social interaction can come together to connect people’s lives and build relationships is my relentless ambition.
When I’m not in front of my Macintosh laptop, I can be found at Starbucks Coffee catching up with friends, perusing Communication Arts Magazine, photographing with my Panasonic G1 camera, and when I have the chance, painting. Recently I have taken to cooking with my beautiful fiancée, experimenting together in the kitchen. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.
